Jonathan Taylor isn’t above showing appreciation to his teammates. He knows that without them he wouldn’t have nearly the success he’s had in two-and-a-half years at Wisconsin.

That’s especially true on this Saturday, as the Badgers are hosting Michigan State. For as good as Taylor has been this year, he was gifted a touchdown in the B1G clash against the Spartans.

How? Well, tight end Jake Ferguson found himself wide open down the field, hauled in a reception from Jack Coan and appeared to be gliding into the end zone. But he tripped over his own two feet just short of the end zone, setting up a 1st-and-goal situation for the Badgers.

Taylor punched the ball across the goal line one play later.

It was Taylor’s 13th rushing touchdown of the season and his 17th overall of the year. After the play, he had to go over and thank Ferguson for setting him up and allowing him to “pad his stats.”

Below is the video of Ferguson’s stumble to the 1-yard line, followed by the interaction between Taylor and Ferguson, detailed by Big Ten Network’s Rick Pizzo.

Sometimes, it’s better to be lucky than good. Taylor got a free touchdown on that drive, but there are plenty of others he’s earned this season.

Every now and then, you need a break to win the Heisman Trophy. Taylor got a bit of a good break this time. And he sounds pretty appreciative of it.
