Kirk Herbstreit offered some praise Luke Fickell’s way recently. Herbstreit talked about how much of winner Fickell has been ever since his days at Ohio State.

Fickell was Ohio State’s co-DC/LB coach in 2014 and helped win a national title that year for the Buckeyes. Ohio State beat Oregon in the College Football Playoff in Arlington, Texas for the championship.

Here’s what Herbie had to say about Fickell and the Wisconsin hire:

“Keep in mind, Luke Fickell was a defensive coordinator at Ohio State for a number of years. Won a lot of championships, won the national championship in 2014. Understands what it takes to be a winner in the B1G. Went to Cincinnati, built them up to a perennial power. Luke knows what staying power looks like.”

Fickell’s record at Cincinnati was 57-17. The numbers speak for themselves. Wisconsin fans will be hoping that his success elsewhere translates to the B1G.
