It takes a lot to impress a legendary football coach like Lou Holtz. But one of Wisconsin’s position groups caught the attention of the Hall of Famer.

Last week, Holtz visited Madison and spoke with the team about the upcoming season. He also took in practice, where he witnessed just how quick and explosive the Badgers are this season.

According to UWBadgers.com, Holtz told Wisconsin icon Barry Alvarez he was “really impressed” with Wisconsin’s speed, especially at wide receiver.

Holtz was probably most impressed with Jazz Peavy, the fastest player at the position. But other guys, like Quintez Cephus and A.J. Taylor, were in the mix as well.

Speed at that position isn’t always a strength for Wisconsin, especially considering the emphasis the Badgers place on the rushing attack. But if Holtz is impressed with the quickness of the receivers, the offense may throw in a few wrinkles this season.

We’ll all get to see how quick that unit really is on Sept. 1.
