Wisconsin gave the country its shock of the weekend when the Badgers upset LSU Saturday afternoon. What happened late in the fourth quarter, however, is what has many people still talking.

After LSU quarterback Brandon Harris threw an interception that sealed the Tigers’ fate, offensive lineman Josh Boutte came out of nowhere with his hit on Wisconsin’s D’Cota Dixon.

Boutte was ejected immediately from the game. His ejection wasn’t the only punishment Boutte suffered, though, as LSU just issued him a one-game suspension.

According to NFL.com, Les Miles said, “Josh made a mistake and will serve a one-game suspension because of it. Even though this was done by mistake, a play like this does not belong in the game of football and therefore action must be taken. This play does not define Josh as a person and is not indicative of the type of player he is. We sincerely apologize for his mistake.”

Miles also said that Boutte called Dixon this morning to offer an apology.
