Luke Fickell was introduced as the next head coach at Wisconsin on Sunday. He had some praise for the Badgers program.

Fickell comes to Madison from Cincinnati. The Bearcats are about to join the Big 12 in 2023, but will be looking for a new coach to lead them during that time.

Fickell stated that he is aligned with AD Chris McIntosh’s vision, and called Wisconsin a destination job.

“This is a destination job at a program that I have admired from afar for years,” said Fickell. “I am in total alignment with Chris McIntosh’s vision for this program. There is a tremendous foundation here that I can’t wait to build upon.”

Fickell was last in the B1G when he was an assistant at Ohio State from 2002-2016.

The Bearcats reached their first ever College Football Playoff under Fickell last season before losing to Alabama. Fickell is now back with a Power 5 program, but this time it’ll be as a head coach.
