Luke Fickell is reported to take over as head coach of Wisconsin following the conclusion of the regular season. It was speculated that Fickell would take over, and several sources reported he would take the job Sunday.

Fickell had an outstanding run with Cincinnati from 2017-2022, leading the Bearcats to their first College Football Playoff appearance in 2021.

The news also came as a shock to some, as many believed interim head coach Jim Leonhard would be hired as head coach. Leonhard took over for Paul Chryst, who was fired after a 2-3 start. Leonhard was able to forge a decent season, leading the Badgers to a 6-6 record.

Chryst had a 67-26 record in his time at Wisconsin and led the Badgers to 4 10-win seasons, including a 13-1 season in 2017 with a win in the Orange Bowl.

Fans and media reacted to the huge news on social media Sunday.
