Mabrey Mettauer, former Wisconsin QB, announces transfer to Sam Houston State
Mabrey Mettauer completed his lone pass attempt during his freshman year at Wisconsin, but that will end up being the only pass he throws as he recently entered the transfer portal.
On Sunday night, he announced that he would be transferring to Sam Houston State to continue his collegiate career.

Mettauer was a big-time recruit for the Badgers in the 2024 class, as he was a 4-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He was the No. 31 quarterback in the class, and was the No. 74 overall player from Texas.
He originally chose the Badgers over other big time programs such as LSU, Ole Miss and Florida among many others.
A big reason why Mettauer is heading to play at Sam Houston State is the familiarity that he has was new head coach Phil Longo.
Longo was the offensive coordinator at Wisconsin last season, but was let go by Luke Fickell in mid-November. He was hired by Sam Houston State on December 18, and quickly made sure to bring in a quarterback he is familiar with.
