It’s been a good opening weekend for undrafted free agents from Wisconsin.

On Friday, it was Alex Erickson who stole the show with a touchdown catch and a punt-return touchdown in his NFL preseason debut.

On Saturday, it was Tanner McEvoy who made the highlight reel with his Hail Mary touchdown catch in the final seconds of regulation.

Technically, it was only a 37-yard touchdown score. But based on where fellow rookie and former TCU star Trevone Boykin threw it from, it felt more like a 50-yard score.

Check it out:

Not that it really matters, but the Seahawks went on to win the game. More importantly for McEvoy, it was an exclamation point on a solid first preseason game. He led the team with three catches for 77 yards and one impressive score.

There were, and still are, questions about whether or not the 6-6 McEvoy is capable of becoming an NFL receiver. He basically played a new position every year of college.

The undrafted free agent sure made a solid case in his NFL debut.
