Jake Ferguson has had a solid showing for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2022 NFL preseason.

The former Wisconsin tight end has snagged 5 receptions for 53 yards across two games in limited action. He’s not exactly lighting the world on fire in that regard, but he has caught the eye of Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy in the process.

He’s such an instinctive, tough football player,” McCarthy said, via Cowboys reporter Michael Gehlken. “That’s what we really liked about him coming from Wisconsin, and he hasn’t disappointed. He’s scrappy. He’s on the edge. He’s chippy. The young man can play.”

The Cowboys have certainly been excited about the former Badger since drafting him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He caught their eye by was of Madison, where he spent four years as a massive piece on a Wisconsin team whose identity is tough and scrappy.

Ferguson hauled in 145 passes for 1,618 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Badgers.
