Montee Ball delivered a legendary career during his time at Wisconsin. Now, the former Badger will be officially enshrined forever in the College Football Hall of Fame.

The news became official on Wednesday with the Class of 2025 officially revealed. Ball becomes the 13th former Wisconsin player to receive enshrinement.

Monte Ball joins Ron Dayne as running backs from the modern era to be enshrined for Wisconsin. Ball followed closely behind PJ Hill’s time in Madison and played alongside other notable Badgers such as John Clay, James White and Melvin Gordon.

It truly was the golden era of backs in Madison, and Ball was the cream of the crop. He was a 2-time consensus First Team All-American in 2011 and 2012 and would capture the 2012 Doak Walker Award as the best RB in the country.

Ball was the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2011 and tied an NCAA record with 39 total touchdowns. He led the FBS with 1,923 rushing yards and produced over 2,200 yards of offense, the lone 2,000-yard season of his career.

Ball led the B1G in rushing touchdowns for 3 straight seasons, and his 77 rushing touchdowns are still an all-time record for Wisconsin. He is 1 of 5 Badgers with multiple seasons of 20+ rushing touchdowns and 1 of just 2 players with multiple seasons of 20+ touchdowns (Dayne is the other).

The star RB finished his career as the program’s 2nd all-time leading rusher and still ranks 3rd on Wisconsin’s list with 5,140 yards. He rushed for 4 touchdowns in a single game 4 times but never matched the single-game record of 5 held by 4 other Badgers.
