In today’s college football culture, it’s not uncommon for players to sit, pout or ponder a decision to transfer if things aren’t going their way. But Wisconsin running back Bradrick Shaw isn’t one of those guys.

Due to an injury suffered earlier in the season, Shaw missed some significant snaps, which allowed true freshman Jonathan Taylor to take over the starting role for a few games. But Taylor has been so good that it doesn’t appear he’ll lose the grip as the team’s No. 1 running back moving forward.

The freshman leads the B1G in rushing yardage (767), average yards per game (153.4) and rushing touchdowns (9). He’s coming off a monster performance against Nebraska last week, tallying 249 yards and a pair of scores on 25 carries in Lincoln.

So yeah, Taylor probably isn’t going anywhere. And Shaw, his teammate, isn’t complaining about it.

“Bradrick is a really good teammate and a really good running back,” Paul Chryst told 247Sports. “As he continues to get more and more healthy, that will be good for him…I love the kid and really think he’s talented. As he continues to get healthy he’ll be good. He’s been good, but he’ll have his moments. They’ll come.”

With Corey Clement out of the picture, Shaw was expected to be the next great Wisconsin running back. But due to those injuries, he’s taken just 43 handoffs for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

As the competition continues to get tougher, it’ll be interesting to see how Shaw’s role in the offense changes — if at all — to provide another dynamic for the Badgers.

This weekend, Wisconsin hosts Purdue in Camp Randall Stadium.
