The 2019 Big Ten Media Days are being held in Chicago on Thursday and Friday this week and the Thursday session has come and gone. Seven teams were featured that weren’t Wisconsin.

On Friday, though, it was Wisconsin’s turn.

Paul Chryst, the Badgers head coach, had his chance to give an opening statement and then was asked questions by the media. One of those questions was about the team’s QB situation.

Jack Coan had experience playing in 2018, while Graham Mertz is arguably the most heralded QB recruit the Badgers have ever landed.

Here’s Chryst:

Chryst didn’t have a groundbreaking answer here as to who may have the inside track, but there are facts that he gave. Coan has experience, which Chryst likes. Chryst also likes what Mertz has shown to this point, which is to be expected.

We won’t know the exact date in which the Badgers name their starting QB, but Coan or Mertz are the likely options.

Wisconsin begins its 2019 campaign on Aug. 30 at USF.
