Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst will have linebacker Mike Maskalunas back for this weekend’s game with Michigan.

Maskalunas, a sixth-year senior who started out as a walk-on, got the first start of his Badgers career against Penn State when Leo Chenal tested positive for COVID-19. Along with his play at linebacker, Maskalunas is an impact player on the Badgers special teams.

Maskalunas was originally listed as questionable for the game against Michigan to start the week, but Chryst announced on his radio show that the linebacker should be good on Saturday:

Against Penn State, Masklaunas made 2 tackles, one of which went for a loss of yards. He also tied outside linebackers Nick Herbig and Noah Burks for the team lead with 3 quarterback hurries. He followed up that performance during the Badgers victory over Eastern Michigan, and was credited with 3 tackles to bring his season total to 5.

Maskluanas was listed as unavailable last week against Notre Dame.

Wisconsin will host Michigan this Saturday with a kickoff set for 12 pm EST on FOX.
