Badgers head coach Paul Chryst didn’t say much after his team’s latest win against Illinois and that included a question about running back Jalen Berger.

Berger didn’t suit up again after missing the opener against Penn State and it’s led many to speculate about what’s going on behind the scenes.

When Chryst was asked about Berger not playing, he decided to not answer it and instead focus on the other backs.

Berger was the team’s leading rusher last season as he had 60 carries for 301 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also averaged 5 yards a carry and his longest run was 23 yards.

This season though, it’s been a completely different story. He only has 24 rushes for 88 yards with 1 touchdown while averaging 3.7 yards a carry.

While Berger was out, both running backs Braelon Allen Allen and Chez Mellusi went over 100 yards with 2 touchdowns combined.

Wisconsin’s next game will be against Army next Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
