Following a tumultuous year, Quintez Cephus could return to the football field in Wisconsin’s season opener.

The wide receiver last played for the Badgers in 2017. He was gearing up for another season in 2018 when he was suspended and later expelled from the university amidst sexual assault allegations.

Since that time, Cephus was declared not guilty of those allegations and reinstated by the university. He is even back with the Badgers football team, and he may even see the field in Friday’s season opener.

Wisconsin recently unveiled its depth chart for Week 1 against South Florida, and Cephus was indeed listed on the two-deep. A.J. Taylor and Kendric Pryor were listed as the starters at receiver, but Cephus was listed with Danny Davis as the second string.

Now, that in itself does not necessarily mean anything. However, it sure looks like Cephus’ return to the field could take place this week. He would bring a nice boost to Wisconsin’s receiving corps. Cephus has 34 catches for 595 yards and six touchdowns in his career.
