Extending the No. 12 Wisconsin Badgers’ lead to 38-17 over the Purdue Boilermakers, junior quarterback Jack Coan found redshirt junior wide receiver Quintez Cephus for a 29-yard score late in the third quarter of Saturday’s game at Camp Randall Stadium.

A play that few receivers in the conference could make, CFB on FOX shared video of Cephus’ grab:

A product of the Stratford Academy in Macon, Georgia, Cephus was a three-star recruit and the No. 66 player in the Peach State in the 2016 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

After posting 94 yards on four receptions (23.5 AVG) as a freshman, he developed into one of then-quarterback Alex Hornibrook’s favorite targets in 2017, catching 30 passes for 501 yards (16.7 AVG) and six touchdowns.

Cephus was briefly expelled from the university in 2018, however, after he was accused of sexual assault. Found not guilty in August of this year, he was readmitted to the university as a student and was allowed to rejoin Paul Chryst’s program.

Picking up where he left off, Cephus entered Saturday’s action with 527 receiving yards – 249 more than the next closest Badger.

Nearing the conclusion of their action with the Boilermakers, Wisconsin will close out their regular season on November 30 against the No. 10 Minnesota Golden Gophers at TCF Bank Stadium (3:30PM ET, ABC).
