Quintez Cephus sets highest mark for bench press among WRs at NFL Combine
It didn’t take long for former Wisconsin wide receiver Quintez Cephus to leave his mark on the NFL Scouting Combine.
On Wednesday, Cephus hit the bench press to get things underway in Indianapolis and he put up a pretty strong total. Cephus ended the workout by throwing the bar up 23 times. That total was the highest among wide receivers at the 2020 NFL Combine, according to the NFL.
The 23 repetitions are also a record at Wisconsin among wide receivers. It ranks fifth all-time in program history among skill position players, which includes tight ends.

Top 3 performers in the bench press among #NFLCombine wide receivers:
1) Quintez Cephus, @BadgerFootball: 23
2) Antonio Gandy-Golden, @LibertyFootball: 22
3) Joe Reed, @UVAFootball: 21— NFL Draft (@NFLDraft) February 26, 2020
Not a bad way to kick things off in Indianapolis this week.
Cephus had a big final season in Madison, ending with 901 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 59 catches. His yardage total ranked seventh in the B1G in 2019. Looks like the former Badger is already turning some heads in Indy.
