Report: J.J. Watt out for season following surgery
It was reported that J. J. Watt could be back at some point this season after re-injuring his back against the New England Patriots. The Houston Texans placed Watt on injured reserve on Wednesday.
As of late last night, however, Watt is done for the 2016 season after undergoing surgery yesterday.
The #Texans knew JJ Watt was done for 2016. Surgery was their best choice for recovery, rather than rehab/rest. No concerns for 2017.

As Rapoport tweeted, as long as Watt progresses as he should, a return for the 2017 is to be expected. The former Badger recorded eight tackles and 1.5 sacks in his three games played this season.
