A key Notre Dame defensive tackle is not expected to play in Saturday’s Top 25 showdown between No. 18 Wisconsin and the 12th-ranked Fighting Irish.
According to Tim Prister of Irish Illustrated, defensive tackle Kurt Hinish is not expected to see the field on Saturday. Head coach Brian Kelly had not provided much of an update on the lineman heading into the contest.
News comes just a few hours before the Irish and Badgers are scheduled to kick off.

Hinish has played in all 3 games for Notre Dame to start the season. He’s been credited with 5 tackles and a sack. His lone hit on the quarterback came in the season-opening victory against Florida State.
In last week’s win over Purdue, Hinish totaled a season-high 3 stops.
Hinish is a 5th-year senior for Notre Dame. During his career with the Irish, he’s piled up 60 stops, 15.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
