A report from Evan Flood of 247Sports indicates that Wisconsin redshirt freshman receiver Devin Chandler is leaving the program to enter the transfer portal.

Chandler is a 3-star receiver out of Arlington, Tennessee. Chandler had chosen the Badgers over North Carolina, Maryland, North Carolina State, Duke, and Virginia.

So far, Chandler has not given his reasons for leaving, but playing time could be an issue. Chandler was expected to contribute to this year’s team.

“I think for Devin the key thing — and we’ve had conversations, he and I, just in regards to the direction he needs to go — just continue to mature, on and off the field,” receivers coach Alvis Whitted said earlier this year via the Wisconsin State Journal.

“I think that he’s making strides. He’s continuing to do things and just learning football, really. And I think the more football that he learns, the more that the game will slow down for him. He can have a bright future here.”

It looks like Chandler’s future is elsewhere now.
