Some potentially bad news trickled out of Madison on Tuesday, as Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel’s Jeff Potrykus reported that Wisconsin safety Travian Blaylock has suffered an injury to his right leg.

Blaylock, a redshirt junior for the Badgers, reportedly suffered an injury to his right knee. He left the field without putting any weight on the leg. The safety is being evaluated.

The severity of the injury is unclear at this time.

Baylock saw the field in a rotational role for the Badgers last season, appearing in 11 contests. He was credited with 20 tackles and a fumble recovery during Wisconsin’s 9-4 year.

As an experienced veteran, Blaylock was expected to take on a bigger role in Wisconsin’s secondary for the upcoming season. He’s spent the past 4 years in Madison, using the 2018 campaign as a redshirt year and having the 2020 COVID-19 waiver, as well.

Over the course of his career, Blaylock has played in 15 games and has totaled 24 tackles and 2 fumble recoveries.
