Russell Wilson comments on poor showing on TNF: 'So much good, but the bad is bad'
Russell Wilson knows that what happened on Thursday Night Football isn’t going to cut it per ESPN’s Jeff Legwold. The Denver Broncos lost to the Indianapolis Colts 12-9 in overtime with all points coming from field goals.
Wilson went 21-for-39 with 274 yards passing and 2 interceptions. Wilson was quick to mention how much he needs to improve in order for the team to start winning more games.
It’s very simple at the end of the day I’ve got to be better, I’ve got to play better,” Wilson said. “The defense played their butts off tonight, we had some key good drives. At the end of the day throwing two interceptions can’t happen. Can’t happen. I let the team down tonight.”
The Broncos had many chances to take the lead, but either turned the ball over or settled for field goals after the offense stalled out. Luckily for Denver, there is still plenty of time left in the season.
“Lots of season left, lot of opportunity,” said Wilson. “There is so much good, but the bad is bad. We should have won that game. It’s on me.”
