Russell Wilson has gotten off to a rough start stat-wise as starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. However, the Broncos are on top of the AFC West along with the Kansas City Chiefs at 2-1.

Monday night, when Wilson was struggling against the San Francisco 49ers, Eli Manning quipped on the Manningcast that the Broncos should have paid Corliss Waitman $250M instead of him.

To which Wilson replied later in his press conference, “You talking about Chad Powers?”I’m 3-0 against Chad Powers.”

A nice comeback by the former Wisconsin QB.

Chad Powers is a character Manning played when was trying to walk on as a quarterback at Penn State on his ESPN show “Eli’s Places.”

Wilson didn’t seem too offended by what Manning said and realizes it is all just part of the game.

“Listen, I think it’s part of the game. Those guys are having fun and everything else. I have a lot of respect for Peyton and Eli and those guys. Always looked up to those guys, so I’m not stressed about it.”

Nice to see Wilson take a light-hearted approach to the situation.
