Russell Wilson reportedly receives status update for Denver Broncos' game vs. NY Jets
Russell Wilson will have to wait at least another week to make another start for the Denver Broncos.
Despite wanting to play, the Broncos felt the need to protect their investment in Wilson and will keep him sidelined for now, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The 9-time Pro-Bowl QB has been healing after a hamstring injury sustained during the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
While Russell Wilson wanted to play despite a hamstring injury and did everything he could to play, the Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett will hold back the 9-time Pro Bowl QB vs. the Jets to allow him to heal and prevent a lingering injury, per sources.

Perhaps a longer recovery will also help Wilson’s rhythm return. In his first season with the Broncos, he has struggled to keep the same pace he had in Seattle. The QB has a rating this season of only 35.8, throwing for 1,442 yards with 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
The former Wisconsin standout led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl Championship in 2014, racking up over 3,000 yards that season and finishing with 292 TD’s over his 10-year career in Seattle.
