Russell Wilson will reportedly examine 'literally everything' in upcoming offseason
Russell Wilson has had a disastrous first year with the Denver Broncos this 2022 NFL season. The former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback sought a trade from the Seattle Seahawks after 10 seasons to contend for a Super Bowl title.
In 13 starts this season for Denver, Wilson has accumulated an overall record of 3-10 and has accounted for his worst quarterback rating of 82.6 and a QBR of 34.9. The lowest season-total QBR he has accumulated before this season was 57.1 in his 2016 season with Seattle.
Wilson’s flop this season has been a big talking point in football media, especially after first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett was fired on Dec. 26. It doesn’t help that Denver gave up a huge trade packet to Seattle in exchange for Wilson.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport talked about a development involving the training of Wilson and the QB looks to be more efficient and more athletic in the offseason:
“It has been a bad year for Russell Wilson, really bad. He was on a Hall of Fame trajectory,” explained Rapoport. “Now, maybe not so much… My understanding for Russell Wilson is after the season he plans to examine literally everything. How he conducts himself during the season, his preparations during the offseason, what kind of teammate. It’s all about accountability.”
