Wisconsin is looking to have an experienced defense in 2021, and the Badgers will get a veteran defensive back next season.
The player is Caesar Williams, a redshirt senior in 2020 who announced on Twitter Sunday evening that he will return next season. The blanket waiver for 2020 provided by the NCAA provides Williams the opportunity to get another year in Madison.

Williams was a three-star recruit out of Texas and a member of the 2016 recruiting class for the Badgers. He redshirted his first year on campus before appearing in two games in 2017.
Since 2018, Williams has appeared in 33 games for Wisconsin. He has 72 career tackles, six TFL, two interceptions, and 14 passes defended.
Williams’ best season came in 2019 when he recorded 35 total tackles, an interception, and led the Badgers with nine passes defended. In the shortened 2020 season, Williams had 13 total tackles and two passes defended.
Hopefully Williams turns in a strong 2021 before heading to the NFL.
