There are catches, and then there are catches. During Wisconsin’s practice on Wednesday, Skyler Bell gave us a demonstration of the latter. With seemingly little effort, the 6-foot-1, 185 lb. wide receiver flew past a defender for a one-arm, tip-of-the-finger catch.

The Badgers will need the help of Bell this year, who had just one reception for 15 yards as a freshman in 2021.  Bell is a former 3-star recruit who chose Wisconsin over scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, Iowa, Northwestern, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.

Bell spoke to SI about his on-field growth and excitement for the upcoming season, stating “this year, I’m just really trying to stay healthy, staying available, doing my job, and making plays.” When asked about the areas of his game he specifically focused on improving this off-season, Bell said, “route running. Breaks, getting in and out of cuts. My releases. Those are three things that us receivers have to do well at this level, especially in the Big Ten, you play against great DBs every week.”

Wisconsin will be looking to improve on their 9-4 record and return to the B1G Championship, which the Badgers missed out on in 2021. The Badgers kick off their season against Illinois State on September 3rd.
