Bortolini officially announced his intentions to move on to the professional ranks on X, formerly Twitter:

Bortolini arrived in Madison in 2020 during the Covid-19 shortened season for the Big Ten. He played a pair of games in a season that did not count towards his eligibility.

Bortolini’s seen 33 games of action since then, mostly as a starter. He switched all over the interior of the offensive line across the past 2 years, even lining up as a tight end a few times in 2022.
