TJ Watt sustained some friendly fire and an ugly-looking injury Saturday evening.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens are facing off in a crucial game for Pittsburgh, and the weather has been a major factor. With temperatures in the mid-30s, driving wind and steady rain, the two teams have struggled to a 7-all tie entering the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately, a bigger concern for the Steelers moving forward is the status of Watt. The star pass rusher was coming back to the ground on one play when a teammate clipped Watt’s left leg.

It is unclear what specific part of Watt’s leg was injured but concerns around his knee and ankle were expressed. He was in visible pain and stayed down on the turf for a while before needing help to get to the sidelines.

After time in the injury tent, Watt was seen walking — under his own power — to the locker room. Hopefully, that’s a positive sign it was not a serious injury, but it seems unlikely he’ll return to the field.

Prior to his injury, Watt recorded his 19th sack of the season, pushing him into the NFL lead for sacks. He has a chance to become the first player in NFL history to secure the sack title in 3 separate seasons.
