A former UCLA cornerback has announced his commitment to Wisconsin.

Jay Shaw, who recently entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, announced on his Instagram account that he has committed to Wisconsin. Ben Kenney of The Zone in Madison captured the image of the announcement.

Shaw was a starting cornerback for the Bruins and would be expected to contribute immediately for the Badgers. It’s a significant pick-up for Paul Chryst and his staff.

Shaw will have one year of eligibility left to use at Wisconsin.

During the 2021 season, Shaw proved to be a contributor in multiple ways. He piled up 27 tackles, broke up 4 passes, hauled in 3 interceptions, had 2 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

Over the last four years at UCLA, Shaw has been a key piece of the secondary. The cornerback has been responsible for a total of 87 stops, 10 pass break-ups, 5 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles.

Wisconsin is coming off an 8-4 year in 2021.
