Vinny Anthony had a bit of a ‘deja vu’ moment when seeing significant time for Wisconsin last week against Northwestern. In a way, he said he was transported back to his high school days 4 years ago.

A member of the varsity team as a freshman, Anthony said he could remember sitting on the bench until his number was called. After that, it was his time to shine.

“It was kind of like déjà vu. In high school, it was almost like the same thing,” Anthony said, via 247Sports. “I got to practice with the varsity team but really didn’t get to play much until I got my opportunity. And then I just took it and made the most of it.”

Anthony wasn’t the leading man, but he did factor in as part of the Badgers’ offensive success en route to a 42-7 road win over the Wildcats. The  6-foot, 171-pounder recorded 10 offensive snaps and recorded a pair of runs for a gain of 11 yards.

On a 3rd-and-4 call during Wisconsin’s opening drive, Anthony took a handoff on a jet sweep for a gain of 4 yards and a 1st down. He also picked up another first down on a 7-yard gain in the 4th quarter. The drive would finish with Graham Mertz connecting with Markus Allen for a 19-yard touchdown.
The Badgers will face off against Michigan State in East Lansing on Saturday at 4 p.m. E.T. on FOX.
