Washington State HC 'doesn't think' any RB tandem in the country beats Braelon Allen, Chez Mellusi
Washington State head football coach Jake Dickert has well-founded respect for a pair of Wisconsin running backs.
Chez Mellusi and Braelon Allen rushed for 157 and 141 yards respectively in the Badgers’ 38-17 opening day win over Buffalo last Saturday. That effort caught Dickert’s attention.
On Monday, Dickert insisted that there may not be a better RB tandem in the country.

No 19 Wisconsin (1-0) is making a return trip to Pullman to take on a Cougar team that handed them a shocking 17-14 home loss last season. Washington State (1-0) comes into the game after beating Colorado State 50-24 in its season opener.
The Washington State defense allowed 357 yards of total offense against the Rams, only 37 on the ground. The Cougars will be hard-pressed to repeat that against a Wisconsin offense that rushed for 314 yards on 40 carries against Buffalo.
Mellusi averaged 12.1 yards on 13 carries while Allen had 17 carries for an 8.3 average. Each running back scored a pair of touchdowns.
The 2 teams have only met 3 times with the Badgers holding a 2-1 series edge. Kickoff is 6:30 pm Saturday night.
