Wisconsin was against the ropes. Trailing 17-14 with 5:40 left in the game, 88 yards stood between the Badgers and a victory in their B1G opener.

Calm, cool and collected, Alex Hornibrook drove Wisconsin down the field in 10 plays, picking up every single inch it needed to leave Kinnick Stadium with a win. It was a 17-yard touchdown pass from Hornibrook to A.J. Taylor that capped the incredible drive.

The Badgers got a little insurance later in the game, downing Iowa 28-17. But it was the poise from Hornibrook and the offense on that long drive that was so impressive.

After the game, Taylor talked about Hornibrook’s confidence and how the offense overcame one of the best defenses in the country to get the win.

“He was poised, he was Alex Hornibrook.” Taylor said. “He didn’t let anything bother him. He just played football.

“We just stuck with each other, we overcame adversity and we just kept playing ball.”

The win was huge for the Badgers, who are now 1-0 in B1G play and 3-1 overall. They are now tied in the West with Northwestern, which also is 1-0 in conference.
