Pittsburgh Steelers draft former Wisconsin LB T.J. Watt No. 30 overall
There’s another Watt in the NFL. More specifically, there’s another first-rounder from the Watt family.
Former Wisconsin linebacker T.J. Watt was drafted No. 30 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2017 NFL draft.
Watt was a breakout star in his first and only season as a starter for the Badgers. Watt earned first-team All-B1G honors after recording 11.5 sacks for the B1G West champs.
After his monstrous junior season, Watt elected to leave school a year early and declare for the draft. Ironically enough, he became the first Wisconsin defender to be picked in the first round since his brother, J.J.
In addition to T.J. following in J.J.’s first-round shoes, he followed brother Derek by making it the second straight year with a Watt drafted.
And just in you were wondering, J.J. and T.J. Watt will face off on Christmas day.
Christmas Day is gonna be fun @_TJWatt!
