VINE: J.J. Watt playing...quarterback?
The Houston Texans were absolutely desperate for an offensive spark.
Facing a two-possession deficit with four minutes left in the first half of the wild card showdown, they decided to take out quarterback Brian Hoyer for a play when they finally got in the red zone.
And who did they put in? The iron man J.J. Watt, of course.
It didn’t turn out so well:
It wasn’t completely crazy to put the former Badger in on offense. After all, he does have a handful of touchdown catches under his belt, not to mention the fact that he played quarterback in high school.
It didn’t fool the Chiefs, but it was still better than the interception Hoyer threw on the next play.
And it’s worth noting…
So @JJWatt took a quarterback snap. He ran for a loss of 1 yard. Brian Hoyer has 6 plays worse than that _ 4 TO, 2 sacks
