What Paul Chryst said after Wisconsin's loss to Iowa
Wisconsin came into this game against Iowa reeling a bit and they left the same way as the Hawkeyes beat the Badgers, 28-7.
The Badgers were held scoreless in the first half despite only trailing 6-0 at halftime but they just couldn’t get anything going. Quarterback Graham Mertz only had 169 yards passing with no touchdown passes and an interception.
Their running game was just as bad as their leading rusher, (Nakia Watson) only had 13 carries for 29 yards and a touchdown.
The loss dropped the Badgers to 2-3 after they won their first two games to open the season. Here’s what head coach Paul Chryst had to say after the game:
Paul Chryst: "In a weird way, we had some opportunities, had our chances, but you have to be opportunistic when you get those chances. Certainly, we didn't." #Badgers

Chryst on UW's OL: It can always fall just on the line whether you did or didn't run the ball well. I think there was times where there was enough time to throw the ball. We've got to be quick.

Paul Chryst said he knew going into the game that Jack Coan was not going to be an option for Wisconsin. He implied the opposite earlier this week.

Paul Chryst said the staff knew Jalen Berger wasn't going to play yesterday morning after the game plan was installed. "He's a talented young back that was continuing to grow. Would have liked to had him."
