A redshirt sophomore center from Wisconsin has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

247Sports was able to confirm that Joe Hedstrom has put his name in the database and will explore opportunities outside of Madison. The news comes about two weeks after the Badgers were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament in the Round of 32 by Baylor.

Hedstrom was a member of Wisconsin’s 2018 recruiting class, redshirting his first season with the program. Over the last two years, Hedstrom played in a total of 15 games for the Badgers off the bench.

The Minnesota native is listed as a 7-foot center on Wisconsin’s team website.

In those 15 games, Hedstrom scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds while logging a total of 30 minutes. He was a member of the 2019-20 Wisconsin team that shared a B1G regular season title.

Because the NCAA granted all winter athletes an additional year of eligibility, Hedstrom will still have three years of availability at his next destination.
