A year without students and fans at games wasn’t fun.
It’s safe to say they’re happy to be back.
Wisconsin saw a huge crowd for its season-opening loss to Penn State in Week 1, and Badgers AD Chris McIntosh said it set a record with more than 8,800 students at Camp Randall Stadium before kickoff.
As a whole, nearly 77,000 fans were in attendance for the game, marking the first time Wisconsin has had fans in the stands since Nov. 23, 2019.
#Badgers AD Chris McIntosh tells UW athletic board there were 8,801 students in their seats before kickoff in the opener. That was the best mark ever.

That’s a lot of people jumping around.
Wisconsin entered the game as the No. _ team in the country, but struggled on offense as Penn State came away with the 16-10 upset victory. The Badgers will stay in Madison to take on Eastern Michigan this weekend.
Kickoff between the Badgers and the Eagles is set for Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. CT on FS1.
