Wisconsin has added another year to Paul Chryst’s contract, extending him through Jan. 31, 2024. The university also extended the head coach at the end of last season.

Chryst was initially signed to a five-year contract through Jan. 31, 2020 when he was hired ahead of the 2015 season. Extending Chryst’s contract has become a yearly event in Madison.

Chryst wrapped up his fourth season with the Badgers, finishing the year with an 8-5 record, which included a 35-3 victory over Miami in the Pinstripe Bowl. This season marked the first time Wisconsin didn’t win at least 10 games under Chryst.

In his first four seasons in Madison, Wisconsin has posted a 42-12 record with a 27-8 mark in B1G play. The Badgers have won two B1G West titles and earned a bid in back-to-back B1G Championship Games. They are a perfect 4-0 in bowl games.

Wisconsin finished 13-1 in 2017, going a perfect 9-0 in B1G play with the only loss coming to Ohio State in the conference title game. It’s the most wins in a single season in Badgers history.
