The contract extension for Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst has been approved. The school released a statement on the news on Friday afternoon.

Chryst was one of three head coaches to receive approval for a contract extension. The others were volleyball coach Kelly Sheffield and women’s soccer coach Paula Wilkins. All three received the nod from the University of Wisconsin Athletic Board.

With the extension, Chryst’s contract now runs through Jan. 31, 2027.

Chryst, 56, just completed his seventh season as the head coach at Wisconsin. In that time, he’s compiled a 65-23 record with a 43-16 mark in B1G play. The Badgers have claimed 3 B1G West titles but have yet to win the B1G Championship Game.

Wisconsin has hit double-digit win totals 4 times under Chryst’s guidance. Each of those 4 seasons, the Badgers have finished the season ranked in the Associated Press Poll.

The Badgers have played in a bowl game in every season under Chryst and have posted an impressive 6-1 record in the postseason.
