Wisconsin basketball is gearing up for the 2023-24 season. On Monday, the Badgers announced one key piece of the schedule with a premier home-and-home series added to the calendar.

Beginning this season, Wisconsin will face Arizona across the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. The Badgers will first travel to Tucson to face Arizona on Dec. 9, 2023. The Wildcats will return to Madison for a visit to the Kohl Center on Nov. 15, 2024.

“We’re really excited to get this great home-and-home series with Arizona,” said head coach Greg Gard via press release. “We’ve had some memorable matchups in recent years with the Wildcats, and we’re looking forward to adding on to what has been a great series.

“Part of what makes college basketball so great is having big-time games in on-campus venues and I love that we can schedule these for the fans in Tucson and Madison. We’ve always tried to challenge our team in the non-conference and facing a program like Arizona will certainly help prepare us for the rigorous Big Ten.”

The Badgers are 5-2 all-time against the Wildcats, including back-to-back NCAA Tournament wins over Arizona in 2014 and 2015. The first-ever meeting between the two sides came in Arizona in 1962 and is the only on-campus game between the two programs.
