One Wisconsin CB is hitting the transfer portal after spending one season in the Badger program.

The player is Avyonne Jones, a former 3-star recruit out of Southlake Carroll High School in Texas via the 2022 recruiting class. He confirmed his future plans in a note on social media.

“Dear Badger Nation, you are everything a college football player dreams of. You show up rain or shine and you have always shown me and my family love,” wrote Jones. “…After a lot of prayers and conversations with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal. I will always have a special place in my heart for this team and this town.”

Jones appeared in limit action as a true freshman for the Badgers last season with 2 tackles. Some turnover is always expected with a new head coach, but it is noteworthy that Jones waited until after Luke Fickell’s first spring to hit the transfer portal.
