Graham Mertz threw for a record-setting five touchdown passes in Saturday’s All-American Bowl, leading the East to 48-14 win over the West.

Following the huge performance, the 4-star quarterback and Wisconsin commit was named the Most Valuable Player of the game. Mertz completed 7-of-14 passes for 188 yards and five touchdowns.

Mertz set new All-American Bowl records in passing yards and passing touchdowns.

Mertz is ranked as the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the 2019 class and has hovered around the top 100 overall players in 247Sports’ rankings. He’s the top-ranked player out of Kansas.

Wisconsin has had trouble at the quarterback position over the last few seasons, which explains why Badger fans are excited about Mertz’s commitment. He certainly proved that he’s one of the top prospects in the 2019 class and can be a game-changer in Madison.
