Wisconsin continues hot stretch with dominant first-half vs. Ohio State
Thursday night is featuring a top-20 B1G showdown between No. 16 Ohio State at No. 13 Wisconsin. Through one half of action, it has been all Badgers at home in Madison.
With both teams coming off wins – including a career-high night from EJ Liddell vs. Northwestern – expectations were high for a tight battle. After 20 minutes, that has not materialized with the Badgers carrying a 40-27 lead into the break.
Remarkably, stars Johnny Davis and Liddell have been quiet throughout. The duo has combined for 10 points while going a combined 2-for-12 from the field.
One of the stories from the first half has been the defense of Wisconsin. The Badgers held the Buckeyes to 12-for-28 shooting and 0-for-8 from 3-point range. On the other side, Wisconsin shot 14-for-29 from the field and 7-for-13 from 3-point range.
At the break, Wisconsin’s Tyler Wahl leads all scorers with 12 points and is also on triple-double watch with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Brad Davison also has 9 points for the Badgers while Davis was limited to 6 points.
Jamari Wheeler leads the Buckeyes at halftime with 7 points. A trio of other Ohio State players has 4 points apiece.
