A Wisconsin defensive back is exploring his options outside of Madison.

Josh Schafer of 247Sports reported that safety Reggie Pearson has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He was a contributor for the Badgers in 2018 and 2019 but did not play during the 2020 season.

Pearson will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next stop. He used his freshman year in 2018 as a redshirt season, playing in just four games. The NCAA granted a blanket waiver for all fall student-athletes for the 2020 season.

Pearson appeared in all 14 games for the Badgers in 2019, helping the team win a B1G West title. He was credited with 60 tackles, 3.5 for loss, 4 passes defended and 2 forced fumbles as Wisconsin ended the year 10-4, playing in the B1G Championship Game and Rose Bowl.

As a high school recruit, Pearson was a 3-star member of the Badgers’ 2018 class.

Wisconsin ended the 2020 season with a 4-3 record.
