Wisconsin made a significant addition to its 2024 recruiting class on Friday afternoon.

The Badgers picked up a commitment from 4-star point guard Daniel Freitag. He picked Wisconsin over other finalist Minnesota, Baylor, Virginia and Notre Dame.

Here’s his announcement:

Freitag is a big-time pickup for Wisconsin. He’s the No. 69 overall player and the No. 8 point guard in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He attends Southern California Academy in Castaic, California. However, he’s originally from Minnesota. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds.

Freitag is the 2nd player to commit to Wisconsin in the class of 2024 so far. 3-star forward Jack Robison committed to the Badgers back in October of 2022.

Wisconsin’s class currently sits at No. 14 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The group ranks 5th amongst Big Ten programs behind Rutgers, Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State.

Here are some highlights from a high school game Freitag played in earlier this year:
