Wisconsin got some needed help in its secondary for the 2025 season from Conference USA, as transfer cornerback Geimere Latimer committed to the Badgers on Tuesday morning.

Latimer posted pictures of himself wearing a Wisconsin uniform on his social media with this message to his new fans: “Badger nation what’s good?!”

Latimer transferred from Jacksonville State, where he helped the Gamecocks win 9 games in 2024, including a 52-12 victory over Western Kentucky in the Conference USA Championship Game earlier this month. The sophomore had 3 tackles, including 1 solo stop, in helping Jacksonville State win the conference title in only its 2nd season as an FBS member.

The 5-foot-10, 187-pounder from Georgia piled up 46 tackles, including 24 solo, during the 2024 season. During his freshman season in 2023, Latimer had 10 tackles, 7 solo, 1 forced fumble and 1 interception.

Latimer is Wisconsin’s first cornerback addition of this transfer cycle and 17th commitment overall (16 scholarship transfers, 1 walk-on). Latimer will have 2 years of eligibility remaining starting next fall in Madison.

The talented cornerback originally joined the Jacksonville State program as an unranked recruit in the class of 2023. But Latimer made an immediate impact there, playing in all 13 games for the Gamecocks as a true freshman.

Then Latimer broke out this fall in helping Jacksonville State capture that unlikely conference title.
