Wisconsin added a major transfer to its 2024 roster on Friday.
The Badgers secured a commitment — and signature — from transfer defensive lineman Brandon Lane. He arrives in Madison by way of Stephen F. Austin and chose the Badgers at the end of a tumultuous recruiting process.
Lane was previously committed to Louisville and also was committed to Michigan State at one point earlier this spring. Lane has made it official with Wisconsin, however, officially signing with the program on Friday:

Lane was a productive player for Stephen F. Austin in 2023. He recorded 44 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, Lane has the size and physicality to play in the middle of Wisconsin’s defensive front next season. He will have 2 years of eligibility remaining with the Badgers.
Lane is the 16th transfer to commit to Wisconsin so far this offseason. The Badgers were active in the portal this year after going just 7-6 last year in Luke Fickell’s first season at the helm.
Looking ahead to this upcoming season, the betting markets are expecting a similar season from Wisconsin. The Badgers’ regular-season win total at FanDuel currently sits at 6.5 (-144 on the over, +118 on the under).
