On Sunday, the Wisconsin Badgers found out where they would be playing a bowl, as they will be taking on LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

That wasn’t the only good news the Badgers got on Sunday, as they received a committed from a big time linebacker in the transfer portal.

Syracuse transfer Leon Lowery Jr. announced that he will be heading to Wisconsin.

The 4th year sophomore had 68 tackles and 5.0 sacks in the last two years at Syracuse. He had also received transfer offers from schools such as Baylor, Georgia Tech, California and Oregon State among others.

With the college football transfer portal officially opening up on Monday, December 4, the twitter announcements by players is only just beginning. There will be more players coming to Wisconsin in the off-season, but also, some of the currently Badgers will be transferring to a different college.

The game against LSU will be on January 1 in Tampa. This will be the first time these 2 teams play since the 2016 Lambeau Field Classic. Wisconsin won that game 16-14, but the Tigers lead the all-time series, 3-1.

Kickoff on January 1 is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET, and the game will be aired on ESPN2.
