Wisconsin lands commitment from transfer LB, former 4-star prospect
Wisconsin made a huge addition in the transfer portal on Thursday afternoon.
The Badgers earned a commitment from former North Carolina linebacker Sebastian Cheeks. He spent the past 2 seasons with the Tar Heels before entering the transfer portal.

Cheeks was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2022. He was the No. 148 overall player and the No. 14 linebacker in the country for that cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
However, despite being a heavily-rated prospect, Cheeks was not able to crack North Carolina’s linebacker rotation. The Tar Heels have deployed a veteran linebacker corps over the past couple of seasons that included players such as Cedric Gray, Power Echols and Kaimon Rucker.
Cheeks appeared in 11 games over the past 2 seasons for the Tar Heels. He was credited with 4 total tackles in those contests.
Cheeks is the 8th transfer to commit to the Badgers so far this offseason. He joins 2 other linebackers in that group as well — former UNI linebacker Jahsiah Galvan and former Syracuse linebacker Leon Lowery.
Cheeks is from Evanston, Illinois. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
